In the german language, the word 'Weingut" means winery, while the word "Ried" means a vineyard. There is a culture of exceptional winemaking in the country of Austria, driven by estates both historic and modern. This class will provide a brief overview of Austrian wine geography, history, law and winemaking, before we dive into a selection of exceptionally crafted wines and the histories of the people who make them. Join Store Manager and Sommelier Sam McClain on this exploration of Austrian producers and their beautiful wines.

Class is structured to last 100 minutes. A flight of eight wines will be served alongside a robust charcuterie board. Wines from the Class will be available for purchase following the class.
