Obsidian Ridge sits at elevation in Lake County's Red Hills AVA, where ancient volcanic soils and cool mountain temperatures create Cabernet with both power and elegance. Their Half Mile vineyard sits at 2,640 feet—exactly half a mile above sea level—where long hang times and dramatic diurnal shifts give the grapes intense flavor development with natural acidity.

This is mountain Cabernet at its best: blackberry, cassis, and volcanic stone with hints of cedar and graphite. The tannins are structured but fine-grained, and there's this incredible mineral quality that comes from the obsidian-rich soils. It's powerful but not heavy, complex but not overwrought.

Decant it and pair with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or aged Gouda. This is why elevation matters in California.
