Leonetti is Washington State royalty—one of the original cult wineries that helped put Walla Walla on the map. Founded in 1977 by Gary Figgins, Leonetti makes powerful, structured wines that can rival Napa's and Bordeaux's best while maintaining its own distinct character.
Nevermind what Miles said about Merlot. Leonetti's Merlot is just as compelling as their Cabernet, showing what this variety can achieve when grown in the right place and treated with respect. Walla Walla's warm days and cool nights give Merlot both ripeness and structure.
This is Merlot with serious intent: plum, blackberry, and chocolate with hints of tobacco and cedar. The tannins are velvety, the texture is rich, and there's a depth here that goes way beyond typical varietal Merlot. It drinks beautifully now but will age gracefully.
Pair it with duck breast, mushroom risotto, or aged Manchego. This is world-class Merlot.
