Jim Barry has been a fixture in Clare Valley since the 1950s, when Jim himself became the region's first qualified winemaker. Today the family farms across some of Clare's best sites, known for Cabernet and Riesling that show real varietal purity. The Cover Drive—named for the cricket shot—is their approachable, everyday Cabernet.
This shows ripe blackcurrant, plum, and a touch of mint and eucalyptus—classic Australian Cabernet character from the cooler Clare Valley climate. It's medium-bodied with soft, approachable tannins, made for easy drinking rather than long cellaring.
Pair it with grilled sausages, burgers, or a simple roast. This is reliable, well-made Australian Cabernet at a fair price.
