Herrenhof Lamprecht "Sand & Lime" Pinot Blanc 2023

Gottfried Lamprecht farms in Austria's Vulkanland Steiermark, on the steep Buchertberg slope where tertiary sediments of sand and limy sandstone give Pinot Blanc real character. He calls this wine "our entry drug"—a playful nod to how approachable it is, even though the winemaking is anything but casual.
A short 12–24 hour skin contact, spontaneous native fermentation in neutral 600-liter oak coopered from the forest right next to the vineyard, and a year of lees aging, bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur. The result has real energy: ripe yellow and orchard peach, dynamic texture, and bright acidity. Give it a little air and let it warm slightly in the glass—it opens up beautifully.
Pair it with fresh salads or braised pork with pumpkin seed oil and horseradish.
