The Vajra family has farmed in Barolo's Vergne hamlet since the 1970s, when Aldo Vajra began converting the estate to organic farming decades before it was common practice. Now run alongside his children, Vajra makes some of Piedmont's most precise, elegant wines—including this Langhe Nebbiolo, their entry point into the variety.
This shows Nebbiolo's calling card even at this level: rose petal, red cherry, and tar with the grape's signature high acidity and grippy tannin. It's lighter and more immediately approachable than their Barolo, made to drink young, but it carries real varietal character and Vajra's trademark purity.
Pair it with pasta in a light meat ragù, charcuterie, or grilled vegetables.
