Florent Baumard's family has been farming in Savennières since the 1950s, and the domaine remains one of the world's benchmark producers for Chenin Blanc. Savennières sits on schist soils along the Loire River, where Chenin develops incredible tension and longevity—these are whites that can age for decades.
This shows classic Savennières character: quince, chamomile, and citrus over a taut, almost austere mineral core that opens with air. It's bone dry with searing acidity in its youth, but that structure is exactly what allows it to develop such complexity over time. Fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel and older oak.
Drink it now with roasted chicken and morels, or cellar it for a decade to see it transform. This is serious, age-worthy Loire Chenin.
