Chateau Lagrange 2019

Château Lagrange traces its roots to the Middle Ages in Saint-Julien, but it was the Japanese beverage company Suntory's 1983 acquisition that truly transformed the estate—millions invested in replanting and modernization turned a once-declining Third Growth into one of the appellation's most consistent performers. Today it farms the largest single vineyard block in the Médoc, with over a hundred distinct soil plots mapped and vinified individually.
The 2019 vintage was outstanding in Bordeaux, and Lagrange's Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend (with Merlot and Petit Verdot) shows real structure: blackcurrant, cedar, and graphite with firm, polished tannins and real aging potential. This is classic Saint-Julien—less flashy than its Second Growth neighbors, but built with real seriousness and offering genuine value at its level.
Decant it and pair with roasted lamb, aged beef, or hard cheeses.
