Chateau Giscours Margaux 2022

Giscours is one of those estates that does everything right but doesn't always get the recognition it deserves, probably because it's "only" a Third Growth in the 1855 Classification. But anyone who's tasted their wines knows they consistently overdeliver, making Margaux that's elegant, age-worthy, and expressive of this incredible terroir on the Left Bank.
The estate sits on deep gravel soils in Margaux's southern sector, where Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the blend. The 2022 vintage was excellent in Bordeaux—moderate temperatures, good ripening conditions—and Giscours captured it beautifully. Expect classic Margaux: blackcurrant, graphite, and violets with silky tannins and that signature elegance. It's structured enough to cellar for 15-20 years but approachable now if you decant it.
This is what Left Bank Bordeaux should taste like. Pair it with roasted lamb, aged beef, or just contemplate it slowly.
