Château du Glana is a Cru Bourgeois property in Saint-Julien, producing classic Left Bank Bordeaux from gravelly soils near some of the appellation's most famous estates. The Meffre family runs the property with an eye toward quality and consistency.
The 2017 vintage in Bordeaux was good if not great—a bit uneven but the better properties navigated it well. This shows classic Saint-Julien character: blackcurrant, cedar, and graphite with structured tannins and good length. It's got the backbone to age another decade but is approachable now with decanting.
Pair it with roasted lamb, aged beef, or hard cheeses. This is solid Left Bank Bordeaux at a fair price.
