Nicola Manferrari is one of Friuli's quiet geniuses, making white wines of incredible depth and complexity from his small estate in the Collio. His Collio Bianco is a field blend of Friulano, Malvasia, and Ribolla Gialla—the traditional grapes of this borderland region where Italian and Slovenian winemaking traditions meet.
What sets Borgo del Tiglio apart is the extended skin contact and aging on the lees. This isn't quite orange wine territory, but there's a textural richness and aromatic complexity here that goes way beyond typical white wine. Think stone fruit, white flowers, and herbs with this incredible waxy texture and mineral backbone. It's got the structure to age for years.
Pair it with prosciutto, grilled fish, or risotto. This is Friuli at its finest.
