Jesse Katz started Aperture after working at Screaming Eagle and other top Napa estates, bringing that same obsessive attention to detail to his own project. His Bordeaux Blend shows what California can do with these varieties when farmed meticulously and vinified with restraint.
This is Napa Bordeaux blend done right: blackberry, cassis, and cedar with firm but polished tannins and beautiful structure. It's got the concentration you'd expect from premium Napa fruit but stays balanced and food-friendly. The wine sees French oak aging to add complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
Pair it with grilled ribeye, braised lamb, or aged cheddar. This is modern California winemaking at its best.
