We have an easy sales pitch for the Cataldi Madonna Cerasuolo - independently of one another this has been a favorite of Greg and Andy for many years. Cataldi Madonna is a great estate located in the hills of Abruzzo in eastern Italy. Founded originally in 1920, the estate is now in its 4th generation with Guilia Cataldi at the helm. They have been estate bottling since 1975 and are now certified organic across all of their vineyards. Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is the traditional deep rose made from the Montepulciano grape variety, not to be confused with Cerasuolo di Vittoria the red blend from Sicily (Italy just has to be confusing sometimes!) Cataldi Madonna makes one of the very best Cerasuolo d'Abruzzos out there. This is lush, fruit forward, dry and crisp rose from Italy that cant be beat at the price. - Andy Paynter
