Bedrock "Ode to Lulu" Rose 2024

Bedrock Wine Co. founder Morgan Twain-Peterson literally grew up making wine. His Father is Joel Peterson, founder of Ravenswood Winery. Striking out on his own, Morgan started Bedrock in 2007 to explore the diversity of old heritage vineyard sites. In his own words, "Bedrock Wine Co. firmly believes in the philosophy that diversity is the spice of life. The wines I make are not limited to a single caste or single style. Rather, they reflect my own eclectic tastes and general feeling that a broad palate makes for more interesting gustatory experiences." Morgan is was the first winemaker to become earn the title Master of Wine, and founded The Historic Vineyard Society which is dedicated to saving, preserving and rehabilitating historic sites and promoting their viticulural diversity. 

Odd to Lulu is Bedrock's rose, an intentional homage to Lulu Peyraud, the founder and iconic leader of Domaine Tempier in Bandol. Tempier makes one of the great rose wines of the world which Bedrock used as a template. It is always based on Mourvedre with dashes of Syrah and Grenache, all from old vine sites in Contra-Costa, Sonoma, and Mendocino. Juicy, super fresh, and quite dry this is a rose with a touch of texture and fantastic with all sorts of food. Now if only it came in 3 liter boxes.... - Andy Paynter
