Kloof Street Old Vine Chenin Blanc, Swartland 2023

Kloof Street Chenin Blanc is such a great example of the variety and happily it sits at a wonderful price. Considering it is made by the Mullineux family this should come as no surprise. Chris and Andrea Mullineux make some of South Africa's most exciting wines and make no exception for their entry level offering.  Sourced from 3 sustainably farmed vineyards in Swartland, Kloof Street Chenin is fermented with native yeast in steel and used French oak.  This is dry, juicy Chenin that is mid-weight on the palate and showcases ripe orchard and stone fruit on the nose.  There's plenty of acidity to keep things lively without coming off too strong.  Frankly, this is exactly what I'm looking for in an every day Chenin Blanc. -Andy Paynter
