Join Accent and Rob Stegall, National Sales Manager for Marimar Estate for an evening exploring these Califorina wines by way of Catalonia.

Marimar Estate is a family-owned winery nestled in the rolling hills of western Sonoma County, founded by Marimar Torres, a fourth-generation member of the legendary Torres wine dynasty of Catalonia, Spain. After leading export sales for the family business in North America and growing annual case volume tenfold, Marimar began dreaming of creating her own wine in California. In the early 1980s she searched the coast before falling in love with a property in West Sonoma County, purchasing it in 1983 and beginning to plant Chardonnay in 1986.  The estate's first release, a 1989 barrel-fermented Chardonnay, debuted in April 1991 to considerable acclaim, and by 1992 a winery had been built and the estate's first Pinot Noir was produced.

Today, Marimar Estate farms two vineyards sustainably, with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Albariño, Godello, and Tempranillo sourced from their sites in Russian River Valley and the West Sonoma Coast, reflecting both the cool coastal California terroir and Marimar's Spanish roots. Since the mid-2000s, she has leaned further into that heritage by producing select Spanish varietals. Her daughter Cristina joined the winery's leadership team in 2020 and, now serving as General Manager, is leading the next chapter of the family story in California. All wines are estate-grown and bottled, a point of great pride for a winery that has always treated the vineyard as the foundation of everything in the glass.
