Jean Boxler is one of Alsace's most meticulous and respected growers, farming steep Grand Cru sites around Niedermorschwihr with an obsessive attention to site expression. Sommerburg is one of Alsace's great granite Grand Crus, and Eckberg is a specific lieu-dit within it—Boxler bottles his best parcels separately to show these micro-differences in terroir.
This is Riesling built on tension: citrus, white flowers, and orchard fruit over a taut, granitic mineral spine. It's dry, precise, and built to age for decades, but the purity of fruit makes it compelling even young. Boxler's wines are known for restraint—nothing here feels manipulated, just a clear window into this specific hillside.
