Folk Machine is one of the many projects from Kenny Likiprakong, a winemaker dedicated to making affordable but high quality wines up and down the California coast. He is deeply passionate about what he does and is dedicated to working sustainably at every level. Frankly, I think he makes some kick ass wine that over delivers at the very modest price points they come in at.
The Pinot Noir is fermented whole berry with native yeast in stainless steel and aged for 9 months in 2-6 year old French oak. It is super juicy, bursting with bright red fruit and just a hint of spice. Unlike a lot of more affordable Pinot Noir available in the US, I think this wine shows a heap of varietal typicity - not only does its taste very good, it taste like Pinot Noir ought to! - Andy Paynter
