We been a fan of Brandborg's wines since we first tasted them back in 2014. Owned by Terry and Sue Brandborg, the winery was established near the town of Elkton in Umpqua Valley, Oregon.
Just 36 miles from the coast, the area of Elkton produces an array of delicious cool climate wines. The Umpqua River twists and turns as it makes its way to the coast, which means that some sites can be quite cold from ocean breezes while vineyards nearby can be comparatively quite warm because the hillsides create wind blocks and the perfect slopes to catch afternoon sun.
Their Pinot Gris is fresh and textural, with aromas of peach and kiwi and lemon zest and would be lovely with some grilled chicken and a fresh salad.
